Leathers
Care for leather by dusting with a soft dry cloth. For further cleaning use a soft damp cloth and wipe dry immediately. Do not use any abrasives as this will damage the surface.
Leather is a naturally porous material that is sometimes uncoated, and can easily absorb liquids and oily substances. To maintain, avoid saturating the leather with lotion or water for a long period of time and keep away from direct heat.
Care for Metals by dusting with a fine cotton or extra soft cloth. Do not allow any water or residue to stand on the surface as this may mark or damage the surface. Never use cleaners with alcohols or solvents on metals.
We recommend that tarnished metals be professionally cleaned.
Clean polished metal or polished stainless with a damp cloth. Do not use commercial or heavy duty polishes or waxes, as they may scratch or damage the finish.
Polishes we do recommend are Brasso, Simichrome; these can be used without inflicting damage even for the unskilled user, unless the polished surface has a wax sealer coat. These polishes will remove the wax while polishing the metal, but the surface would then have to be re-waxed if it is on a metal that needs to be sealed.
Clean with a soft damp cloth, wiping off with a soft lint free cloth to dry the surface
Clean brass by dusting and wiping with a soft cloth. If additional waxing is required spray a little non silicone wax onto a soft dry cloth – wipe over the surface of the brass avoiding any residue getting on other parts of the product. Buff up with a clean dry soft cloth.
Clean copper by dusting and wiping with a soft cloth. If additional waxing is required spray a little non silicone wax onto a soft dry cloth – wipe over the surface of the copper avoiding any residue getting on other parts of the product. Buff up with a clean dry soft cloth.
WOOD LACQUER FINISHES
Wood and lacquered pieces have been stained and/or polished to bring depth and beauty to each finish.
Care for your wood and lacquer pieces by dusting regularly with a soft cloth. Do not allow any water or residue to stand on the surface as this may mark or damage the surface.
To maintain, avoid extreme humidity changes in your home, as extremely dry air can cause wood to crack and lacquer to lift. Do not place/leave hot or moist objects directly on the wood.
Clean by using a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Follow by polishing with a dry soft cloth. Do not use commercial, heavy-duty polishes or waxes, as they can yellow light finishes.
We recommend that stained or soiled wood or lacquer pieces be professionally cleaned or refinished.
STONE
As stone is a natural material, markings and colour will vary.
Clean stone surfaces with a soft cloth and a few drops of stone soap or a light detergent combined with warm water. Too much cleaner or soap may leave a film or cause streaks. Rinse the surface thoroughly after cleaning and dry with a soft cloth.
For spills, blot with a soft cloth immediately to prevent the stain from being absorbed by the stone. Flush with water and mild soap and rinse well. Dry the area with a soft cloth.
For cleaning Marble use a pH neutral cleaner. Avoid ammonia-based cleaners, which can break down the sealant and possibly damage or discolour the stone.
Do not use scouring powders or creams; these products contain abrasives that may scratch the surface.
We recommend that stained or soiled stone be professionally cleaned by a stone cleaner or a refinisher.
GLASS AND MIRROR
Glass and mirror can be cleaned by wiping with a soft damp cloth or glass cleaner with no additives. To avoid overspray that may damage other finishes, apply the glass cleaner to a soft cloth rather than directly onto the surface.
